You would think that your bosses would just let the person answer the question however they are comfortable then just edit it down! The style required does seem rather cold even annoying. Not your fault at all. Giving up any job you like is always horrible and a total life change. I can't imagine how much harder with M.S.
Gary (my boss) was super accommodating with my MS. It's how this form of interview is done. It can't be edited = looks choppy. I guess Ted never did this sort, combined w/my matter-of-fact delivery. In the end few minutes. he was swell, and I was able to thank him for TCM. If we coulda reshot? It would have been gold. Yes. Giving it all up was devastating.
